Manifesto

We all know they’re only little once. We snuggle, we laugh, we sometimes cry… The tough moments seem like they might last forever, but we still remember we’ve got to try to hold onto these moments as they pass (thanks, Adam Duritz). All the while, we’re balancing work, family, friends, and our checkbooks online bank accounts.

There are only 936 Saturdays before they turn 18. Less than 1,000 Saturdays to make the memories that we hope they’ll hold onto when they get older and start to make their own Saturdays count… a late night bike ride, THE Ohio State University Spring Game, a trip to see THE mouse, a weekend on Lake Erie, a run around the pond in Arkansas with frequent stops to skip across a fallen tree bridge, a FaceTime session while Mommy is in China working on next year’s Christmas, a once in a lifetime chance to meet a former President, or any number of Saturdays we spend drawing, talking, jumping, tumbling, dancing, ice skating, or playing ball. These are the days that make up who this little boy will become. I get 936 times to get this right.
